4 days orientation. Met some old friends, met some new friends.
Madness from the renioun with my good friends. 4 days later regain back my sanity.
From the faces of the fresh grads, I saw a shadow of myself 3 years old- innocence, optimist, cheerfulness, hopefulness, enthusiastism, chiongster, everything seems rosy.
After 3 years, having experienced the rigid processes, problem in the workplace, got scolded for mistakes not made by me, kena tai chi from seniors and arrowed for jobs I dun like to do
1st year of work:
blur blur,
Managed 12 pts,
Plenty of orders of doctors,
served rich tai tai, starts to see the evilness of humankinds,
made million of mistakes,
become pessimistic,
common phrase " 世界是黑暗的" Thankful for ....
kind hearted Nem seniors (espcially Mae and the night seniors) who are constantly there to guide, warn and teach me.
They made life easier for me so that i dun need to learn things the hard way.
Good Teamwork,
Managers that dun blacklist me for stupid mistakes I made. One of them is sending diaposable knife for sterilisation, major mistake as the knife might hurt my fellow colleagues at the other end receiving it.
Absolutely stupid mistakes...
2nd year: bitterness, grumpy, teared after work, lost, tired of routines, lost of passion.
2.5-3 year: regain back my passion in dem.
I count myself luck,
Not much talent
But always got job offered at the right time.
Saw my friends, they looked exhuasted.
I understand how they feel
Many asked if there's anyway they can get into this program...
...
Missed clinical.
Missed the fun, thrills, friends, excitement, interaction with pt at Dem.
Dem, Tough place to work in, tiredness, fall sick easily, plenty of night shift, one lesser off day- yet still satisfied and love working there.
Tour around the campus,
Eye opener, bigger picture, holistic view.
Hospital got many stakeholder, complicated setting.
got to see different facilities, BMU, SOC, business office, kitchen, MMD, MRO, linens, 4000, pharmacy, acedamia blah blah blah....
As a nurse, I m a end user to all of this facilties.....
Now, better understand....
All function uniquely yet all interlink....
Cant provide smooth journey for pt without any of this backend services...
After 3 years in the frontline service, I m now the 幕后工成. I hope I can make some contribution within this 2 years..that will benefit the pt and cause less frustrations to my fellow colleagues. This will b my attitude.
